Default Tims 5 points in front....
Speaking to a mhanky at work, and he is staying optimistic about the SPL.

His logic...

Celtic beat Motherwell tomorrow - gap down to 4 points
Celtic beat us - gap down to 1 point

Celtic beat Aberdeen while we don't have an SPL game - they go 2 in front
Celtic beat us again - they go 5 points in front

We'd have 3 games in hand, but a huge fixture pile-up, and loads of difficult away games to play in a short space of time.

I know its very much a worst case, but it made me think how important it still is to kill them off in the 2 games at Parkhead.

Let's finish the job early and get the party started!

Default Re: Tims 5 points in front....
Typical timmy, that would be 4 wins in a row for a team who haven't even scored in the last 4 or so.

Still agree with you that we need to finish them off in the next two piggery games though

don't even need to beat them at the piggery - I reckon 2 draws would do the job.

and the way we are defending, we are easily capable to stopping them scoring. I reckon Weds will be 0-0, and we'll sneak a 1-0 in the 2nd game.

This point was made yesterday and is potentially valid.

Whilst if we did lose both games we would be under pressure the reality is we would just need to go another unbeaten run and take the title.

However if they slip any further behind in these games then it is party over for them.

We can afford to lose two games or 6 points or whatever, they can't.

Every possible way of us losing the title includes them winning EVERY game.

Not impossibe, but highly improbable.

Got to disagree with your second point. They really need to win the first game to stand any chance of catching us. This plays into our hands hugely with the counter attacking game plan Wattie has us playing. On top of which they have yet to score against us in 4 games(?) I think we may see Top Tier jumpers on wed night

Absolutely spot on.

If they do get a result tomorrow they will have to attack us on wednesday night which as we've seen all season, suits our game big time.

Still see it being a score draw on wednesday though I can't see them beating motherwell tomorrow.

This "plan" had them 8 points in front before last weeks games

I love the timmy logic - they are simply trying to make us sweat until it is mathmatically impossible for them to do anything.

Still i am not opening any champagne just yet - just look at all the sheep that will be cancelling hotel rooms and buses for the 24th of may !

Worst case scenario, but I cant see them beating us on Wednesday. That and there is every chance they could struggle tomorrow. 0-0 at half time and the mhankys will turn on Chesney and the team.

I have to admit that that is possible so we must avoid defeat in the 2 games against them as if that scenario came true we would struggle with the fixture pile up

Let's not worry about what they have to do, it's about what we have to do.
A win on Wednesday and it is all over, let's not think about a draw let's put them to the sword.

There is no way they will take 21 points from the seven fixtures they have still to play. I have looked at the worst case scenario and believe that from the 24 points we have up for grabs i make it at very worse 4 wins and 2 draws would be enough and thats only if they keep winning. We take anything from either of the 2 games at septic park and they'll crumble altogether.
